Traditionally known for their size and brawn, the Leavitt Hornets will use speed and finesse to take on the KVAC this year.

Although they still have some size up front with 6-foot-5 sophomore Cole Morin, the Hornets will want to play fast.

“We’re going to play a lot more guys and we’re going to be a lot more up-tempo and run a lot more than we have in the past,” coach Mike Hathaway said.

The key to maintaining that style will be a collection of young, quick guards and wing players. It should help that after running the offense through four different point guards last year, the Hornets expect to have more stability at that spot with freshman Wyatt Hathaway holding down the position.

Senior Bryce Hudson, juniors Josh Banks and Stephen Gray, and sophomores Damion Calder, Mark Herman and Keegan Melanson will help fill the lanes. Senior Tim Albert moves from the wing to power forward to help Morin underneath. Senior Tristan Swan and junior Oren Shaw provide frontcourt depth.
