LEWISTON — Joshua A. LaBelle, 38, of Lewiston, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
He was born in Portland on June 29, 1979, a son of Sidney and Gail (Skillings) LaBelle. He attended local schools before moving to South Carolina where he graduated from West Ashely High School.
He eventually became licensed as a long haul trucker, working for a time at Western Express out of Pennsylvania before moving back to Lewiston. He was a member of the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Lewiston. He belonged to the Gun and Rod Club in South Carolina, worked with the Habitat for Humanity for two years and worked with youth groups busing them to various events. He loved dedicating himself to helping others. He was a wonderful artist who loved drawing and taking pictures of things of great beauty. He truly enjoyed cooking for his nieces and nephews and cherished the special time spent with them.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Sidney LaBelle of Florida and Gail LaBelle of Lewiston; his brothers, Justin LaBelle and wife, Kris of Auburn, Matthew LaBelle and wife, Brittany of Florida, Darren Clukey and wife, Keysha of Bangor; 13 precious nieces and nephews; his uncles, John Scates of Florida, James Scates of Ohio and Gary Skillings of Florida.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Monique Skillings Conroy and John F. Skillings.
