LEWISTON — Roina “Ina” F. (Harrington) Wing Berube, 84, of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19. She was born in Wayne on March 2, 1933, the daughter of the late Edwin and Edith (Nickerson) Harrington. She attended local schools and also took some college courses.
After living in Hebron for many years, she returned to Lewiston, where, during her illness, she was supported by her sister, Bonnie Caron and her good friend, Peter Bonk. She was a retired administrator from Pineland Center in Pownal. She was a former selectman for the town of Hebron, where she loved to dedicate her time, treasurer of the 20M Social Club, former owner of the Ponderosa Cafe and she also was a fire and rescue volunteer in the Town of Hebron until her retirement. She loved to knit and crochet in her spare time, and to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorna Mack and her husband, Michael; three sons, Jeffrey Wing and wife, Sandy Aube-Wing, John Wing and wife, Linda Wing, and Timothy Wing; a daughter-in-law, Linda Wing; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Friend and husband, Brett; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, son Elwin (Manny) Wing; one brother; three sisters; her first husband, Elwin Wing Sr.; and second husband, Ralph Berube. She will be missed and never forgotten by her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Marshwood Nursing Home/Genesis & Hospice House of Auburn for the love and care they gave our mom.
