AUBURN — Judith W. McKinney, 59, of Auburn, died Monday, Nov. 20, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.
She was born in Hartford, Conn., on Nov. 23, 1957, the daughter of Edmund and Helen (Sobanski) Wieleba. In 1981, Judy married Alan McKinney. They celebrated their 36th anniversary on May 1, 2017.
While still in Connecticut, Judy was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling of New York, Associated Construction and Morganti Construction. Here in Maine, Judy was employed by Dr. Lawrence Levy for 16 years before retiring in January 2016.
Judy was an avid reader and walker. She also enjoyed snowshoeing and kayaking. In addition to sewing quilts and “double uglies,” she liked to refinish and repurpose old furniture. Some of her best projects were rescued from the dumpster or the side of the road on trash day.
Besides her husband, Alan, Judy leaves behind her cherished daughters, Lisa McKinney and partner, Jason Cushman and Eileen McKim and her husband, Dominic McKim. She is also survived by her sisters and family, Natalie and Andrew Crafa of Wethersfield, Conn., Barbara Wieleba of South Windsor, Conn., Susan Wieleba Hahn of Oak Harbor, Wash.; nephews, Aaron Crafa of Glastonbury, Conn. and Ryan Crafa of Cromwell, Conn.
Love and thanks to special friends, Rose Vining and Suzanne Carbonneau. Thank you to the staff at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their compassionate care.
