LEWISTON — Lawrence Dubay, 74, of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with his family by his side. He was born March 23, 1943, a son of the late Archie and Gloria (Gagnon) Dubay. He attended local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1962. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964 where he served his country and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1978. Before going off to war, he married the love of his life, Marcelline (Marcy) Roy, in Lewiston on Feb. 16, 1963. Upon returning from Vietnam, he used his Navy education to become a communication technician for New England Communication where he worked for many branches of the telephone company for over 35 years before retiring in 2010. He and Marcy lived and worked in Jay, Maine, where they raised their young family before moving back to their hometown of Lewiston. Marcy passed away in 2009.
Larry was a member of the VFW in Jay, Maine. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time with his dog and enjoyed visiting his friends. When his grandchildren were young, he cherished the time he spent with them. Larry is now back with the one true love of his life, Marcy.
Larry is survived by 3 children: Lorie Dubay-Corrieri and husband George of Farmington, Angela Johnston and husband Mark of Auburn, Chip Dubay of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin and Hannah Johnston, Cameron and Jacob Dubay; 2 brothers, Denis and wife Pauline, and Steve; 2 sisters, Pat and Diane.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marcelline Dubay and a sister Joyce.
