AUBURN — Dolores M. Keene, 82, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Clover Manor in Auburn, with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Caribou, a daughter of the late Harold and Theresa (Ouellette) Fitzherbert. At a young age she moved to Auburn where she attended local schools. She was married to Gerald Keene on April 27, 1953, in Auburn, where together they worked and raised their young family until his death in 2003. She loved working as a waitress at Denny’s for several years. She was a former member of the Sixth Street Congressional Church in Auburn. Animals, especially her cats, brought her much enjoyment in life, but her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children and a nana to her grandchildren. She enjoyed having them all at her house where cooking for them was a main attraction.
Dolores is survived by her four children, Ronald Keene of Florida, Rebecca Keene and partner, Bob Glencross of Auburn, Debbie Lalemand and husband, Russell of Leeds, Penny Arnold and husband, Jay of Auburn; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Jackson, of Poland; a brother, Richard Fitzherbert, of Florida; and sister-in-law, Barbara McFarland of Portland.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; and sister, Helen Laroche.
