AUBURN — Dalmat F. Mercier, 86, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Hospice House after a long battle with Alzheimer’s with his loving wife by his side.
Dalmat was educated in the local schools and later joined the National Guard and Air Force.
He had many jobs in his time, working in the mills, driving buses, HP Hood delivering milk and ice cream and delivery for Colonial Ice Cream.
Dalmat was the president of New Auburn Little League, coached baseball and hockey. He enjoyed being with his children the most.
Nov. 11, 1972, he married Constance J. Parker.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Connie; sons and wives, Rick and Michelle, Maurice, Gary and Sharon; daughters and husbands, Amy and Todd Moores, Gail and Randy Scammon, and Kim and Daniel Godin; stepsons and wife, Robert and Kim Parker, Rene and companion, Ann; and grandchildren, Kylie Mercier, Jocelyn Mercier, Brayden Mercier, Bryan Moores, Justin Moores, Christopher Mercier, Jeffery Scammon, Cody Mercier, Shannon Tanguay, Casey Parker, Alex Parker and Nick Beauchesne; and two sisters, Elsie and Rudy Ames, and Patricia and Gerald Anctil.
