I attended high school in Lewiston and now live and work here. I have gotten to know mayoral candidate Ben Chin personally. He possesses a character of integrity and an ability to listen deeply.

He has invested countless hours talking with residents and, with their concerns in mind, he has developed forward-thinking, creative, policy ideas for economic development, job training and public health in our city. In troubling times, he offers energy and motivation to work toward creative solutions.

Furthermore, I believe electing Chin would spark a renewed interest in this city. Lewiston’s negative reputation is unfortunate and untrue. Many agree it is a barrier to attracting investment. Chin’s election would signal to investors and young professionals that Lewiston is prepared for brave, creative leadership.

I hope others will join me in voting for Ben Chin for mayor in the Dec. 12 runoff election.
