LEWISTON — The first two showings of an eight-part French film series will take place on Mondays, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 in Heritage Hall at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. All shows start at 6:30 p.m. and the door and bar will open at 6.  Light concessions will be sold.  Admission is free.

“TV5MONDE Days” will kick off in November with “Le Temps d’Anna,” a 2015 feature film drama from Switzerland.  The story goes that Jean and Anna are passionately in love, but one day Anna develops a strange illness which gradually worsens.

In December, the series continues with a French feature film comedy, “Sous le figuier.”  It’s a 2012 film caught up in an existential crisis, where Nathalie, Christophe and Joelle rent a house beside the river Moselle to spend their summer holiday with 90-year-old Selma.

The film series is sponsored by TV5MONDE USA, the global French language entertainment network, broadcasting without commercial interruptions, offering programs from France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. TV5MONDE can be found locally on Spectrum Cable at Channel 71.
