MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Jerry R. Williams, 80, a resident of Livermore, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he was wintering with his son, Michael. He was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Frank H. Williams and Florence H. (Olson) Williams. He attended school in Angola, N.Y., and continued his education in forestry at SUNY-ESF Ranger School in Wanakena, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. On Aug. 2, 1962, in Germany, he married the love of his life, Eleonore Maria Loesel, of Germany, and they were married for 53 years prior to her passing in 2015.

Jerry worked as a forester for International Paper at the Woodlands Division. After his retirement from International Paper he started his own business called For-Safety, which allowed him to continue traveling to the North Maine Woods, which he loved, and to work with independent logging contractors. He was a member of the International Paper Quarter Century Club, the North Livermore Baptist Church, International Order of Kings Daughters & Sons Mizpah Circle, Past Master of the Oriental Star Masonic Lodge 21 and Noble of Kora Shrine.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Williams of Livermore, Frank Williams and his wife, Lisa of Dover, Pa., and Peter Williams and his wife, Hollie of Clarkston, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Eleonore; his grandson, Tyrell Waldon; and his brother, Thomas Williams.
