AUBURN — Linwood J. Bishop Jr., 72, a resident of Depot Street, Buckfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, at the Androsccoggin Hospice House following a short illness.

He was born in Lewiston on May 18, 1945, the son of Linwood J. and Katherine M. Bishop Sr. Linwood was a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, the former Rosa M. Hamel.

Linwood was a very talented machinist and had worked at Country Kitchen, maintaining bread-making machines for over 20 years and also worked part-time for Bates College.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa; his son, James; his three daughters, Sherry, Cindy and Lisa.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Walter; and two sisters, Gertrude and Bernadette.One half-sister, Alice; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
