POLAND — Voters on Tuesday will decide whether to authorize Regional School Unit 16 to issue up to $5.7 million in bonds to expand and equip the middle and renovate the high school, both on Route 26.
The question requires a combined majority yes vote from Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls to pass.
The proposal calls for adding several classrooms to Bruce M. Whittier Middle School, eliminating the need for the three modular units the school is using for six temporary classrooms.
The project would also move some shared middle school-high school offices to a central location within the building and would create a single, secured entrance for the middle school and Poland Regional High School.
The school building is about 20 years old.
Voting will be held at the Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
