LEWISTON — Thursday is the last day for anyone in Maine to vote early before Election Day, Nov. 7, Lewiston City Clerk Kathy Montejo said Wednesday.

Lewiston and Auburn officials have extended voting hours until 7 p.m. Thursday. Any voter who needs to order their absentee ballot over the phone should call the City Clerk’s Office at 513-3124 before the 4 p.m. closing time.

The following elected offices will appear on Lewiston ballots: mayor, School Committee member at large, city councilor for each ward and School Committee member for each ward.

Also appearing on the ballots in Lewiston and Auburn is the question to legally consolidate the two cities.

The state referendum ballot contains questions to authorize a casino in York County, expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, a bond issue for transportation improvements and a constitutional amendment regarding state pension funding.

Lewiston’s website contains sample ballots, directions to polling places and other information that voters may find useful. The website address is: www.lewistonmaine.gov/elections

Voters are encouraged to contact the City Clerk’s Office at 513-3124 with any questions.
