SKOWHEGAN — Glenys M. Ryder of Auburn was named the Outstanding Granger of the Year at the 144th annual Maine State Grange Convention held in Skowhegan Oct. 19 to 21.
Ryder was the chairman of the State Grange Executive Committee and a member of Danville Junction Grange No. 65, where she is chairman of the Community Service Committee. She and her committee collected coupons for veterans at every meeting, collected goods and contributions for Auburn’s Police Activity League and delivered more than 300 dictionaries to third-graders in five schools in Lewiston, Auburn and New Gloucester.
Ryder has held numerous offices in the local Danville Junction Grange No. 65, as well as in Androscoggin Pomona Grange No. 1 and other State Committees. She has been a member of the Grange for more than 60 years.
