AUBURN — Kristen Huntress made 4 of 5 of her 3-point attempts in scoring a game-high 16 points and sisters Jordyn and Brooke Reynolds combined for 26 as Central Maine Community College routed Champlain-St. Lawrence, 83-27, in a women’s college basketball game at Kirk Hall on Sunday.
Huntress made half of the Mustangs’ eight 3-pointers, and the freshman was 6 of 8 from the floor overall. Jordyn Reynolds made a game-high seven field goals, while also pulling down a game-high six defensive rebounds and seven overall. Brooke Reynolds had 12 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end, while adding six assists, five steals and two blocks.
Natalie Thurber and Jane Lester each scored 10 points apiece for the the Mustangs off the bench.
Jeanne Bellarouse led the Lions with six points. Marie Trepanier and Amy Page both scored five points off the bench.
Men’s Basketball
CMCC 60, St. Thomas 46
AUBURN — Elijah Barbour scored a game-high 14 points off the bench to help pace the Central Maine Community College men’s basketball team to a 60-46 victory over St. Thomas University of Fredericton, New Brunswick, at Kirk Hall on Sunday.
Barbour made 3 of 5 of his 3-point shots and also grabbed six rebounds. Corey David poured in 13 points and also swiped three steals to lead the Mustangs’ starters.
Mitch Claybourn and Brady Atkinson scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the Tommies.
