LIVERMORE FALLS — Michael J. O’Brien, 77, of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, Oct. 25. He was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Weymouth, Mass., to Michael and Helen (Dwyer) O’Brien. He was the oldest son of 10 children in the large blended family of his father. He served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Begor, 1957-1960. He was a retired U.S. Postal clerk. After his retirement he worked at Paris Farmers Union, was a member of the Hillside Sports Club and managed the School House Apartments, all in Jay.

He enjoyed watching golf, playing pool with his family and friends and he loved coffee. He lived in many places: Massachusetts, California, Maine, Oregon and Washington, but his favorite place was Maine. He had his own large blended family being married and divorced to Pat, Laima and Midge.

He is survived by his daughters, Sandra, Dijana, Julie, Belinda and Sheryl; his sons, Michael, Jim and Michael; his mom, Vera; his sisters, Sheila, Noreen, Penny and Kathy; his brothers, Dennis, Kenneth and Darrin; his second wife, Laima; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and his friends in Maine, especially Cathy, who is a blessing to him and his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Helen; his sisters, Marie and Peggy; his third wife, Midge.

For Uncle Mike he went to bed, just like it was the end of any day. Such a blessing to go peacefully in one’s sleep. I just hope there is a continuous pot of coffee in heaven. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
