Red Storm felt overlooked after early-season loss to Thornton Academy. Five touchdowns in a win over Bonny Eagle got everyone’s attention for the playoffs.

2. Bonny Eagle (7-1)

The health of leading rusher Alex Sprague and leading pass rusher Christian Napolitano will be key to Scots’ ability to bounce back.

3. Thornton Academy (7-1)

Give South Portland an assist for helping the Golden Trojans get this week off.

4. Marshwood (8-0)

Dominant as any team in the state, the Hawks have to be wondering what they’d have to do to get a bye.

5. Kennebunk (7-1)

Marshwood got the best of the Rams in the regular season, but never count out a Joe Rafferty-coached team in the playoffs.

In the unpredictable A North, Red Eddies hope having a week to recover and regroup will make the difference.

7. Falmouth (6-2)

Much-maligned defense pitched a shutout against a strong Greely team.

8. MDI (7-1)

Trojans missed having three 100-yard rushers by only three yards against their conference’s top defense, Nokomis, last week.

9. Skowhegan (5-3)

Indians have scored 50+ points each of the last three weeks. They scored 40+ in three in a row before that.
