POLAND — Richard R. Haslip, 69, passed quietly on Friday, Oct. 20, after a long, courageous battle with bladder cancer, surrounded by his family.
Born in New York on Feb. 22, 1948, he is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his children, Amy and her husband, Scott, Curtis and his wife, Dayna, Daren and Brian; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Jarod, Liam, Elyse and Brianna.
He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who we will miss beyond words.
Richard spent his life in the health field, a businessman and a tireless volunteer. He also loved to spend his free time in the woods hunting, camping and hiking. His favorite hobbies were to collect vintage maps from all over Maine and golf.
The family would like to thank the New England Cancer Specialists — especially Dr. Dugan in Scarborough — the wonderful people at the Dempsey Center and the staff at the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House in Auburn.
