Serious injuries were reported after a vehicle hauling a trailer collided with a motorcycle on South Main Street near Prospect Hill Golf Course in Auburn on Saturday.
AUBURN — Two people were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon on South Main Street on the edge of Prospect Hill Golf Course, according to Police Sgt. Nate Westleigh.
A 2000 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Glenn Flynn, 58, of Auburn was hit by a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup driven by Daniel Lovell, 40, of Auburn, Westleigh said.
Westleigh said Lovell was driving south on the road and lost control going down the hill, hitting Flynn just near the edge of the 18th hole.
Lovell and Flynn were taken to Central Maine Medical Center by Auburn Rescue.
Flynn suffered serious injuries, but Westleigh said the biker is likely to recover. Lovell had minor injuries.
Lovell was towing a trailer with a skid steer attached. Maine State Police are looking into commercial laws based on the weight of the truck and trailer, but no charges had been filed.
Both vehicles were towed.
South Main Street near the crash was closed to one lane of traffic while the accident was investigated and cleared.
