The municipal elections in November are nonpartisan. We are not electing Democrats, Republicans or independents for mayor, city council and school committee. We are electing citizens who are willing to give their time to understand the issues that Auburn faces and to come to agreement about how Auburn should move forward. That is particularly important for the office of mayor.
Adam Lee has demonstrated that he understands the issues and that he knows how to work with other elected officials and the city manager. Whether through his continued concentration as a city councilor on downtown economic development or his drafting and enactment of a food sovereignty ordinance that benefits Auburn’s farmers, Lee works for all residents.
Whatever the outcome of the merger referendum, Lee is prepared to collaborate with Lewiston to improve economic development, school systems and public works. He will be a great Auburn mayor.
