JAY — A local man is accused of telling a police officer Tuesday that if his neighbor reported his loud music to police, he would burn his house down, Police Chief Richard Caton IV said Wednesday.
Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier responded to a report of loud music on Bridge Street just after 6 p.m. and was approached by Todd Sullivan, 25, of Jay, Caton said.
Sullivan advised Fournier if the neighbor reported the loud music “he was going to burn his house down,” Caton said.
Sullivan was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of terrorizing. He was being held on $300 cash bail, but he was held because of his probation on an unrelated matter.
Sullivan was previously found guilty of assaulting a police officer, for spitting on a Jay officer on March 3, 2016, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, physical force. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail and put on probation for a year.
When Sullivan was arrested in March 2016, he was on probation for a 2015 conviction of sexual abuse of a minor in Jay.
