Makrina Tanguay of Lewiston decorates the kouvouklion while helping to get the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church ready for the Greek Festival in Lewiston on Thursday. The kouvouklion represents Christ’s tomb and is used during Holy Friday service. The annual Greek Festival is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.
Parishioners of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church started preparing the Greek pastries following church service last Sunday, said Greek Festival Chairwoman Doreen Cote. The festival has taken place every year for the past 14 years. “It takes months of preparation,” Cote said.
