AUBURN — The Auburn Community Concert Band begins practice Wednesday, Sept. 13, for the holiday season, according to director Milt Simon.
The band has a need for people who play clarinet, bass clarinet, tenor sax, French horn, or tuba, along with drum set players who can read music.
Membership requires minimum conflicts with the group’s weekly schedule of Wednesday evening rehearsals and concerts. Members must also have their own instruments.
Rehearsals take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St.
The group’s annual holiday concert is scheduled Wednesday, Dec. 20, at The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston. Other Wednesday evening performances are also planned for earlier in the month.
The band has 42 members, ranging in age from 13 to 88, who represent 16 towns.
