PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Oxford resident Madison Owens and the Johnson & Wales University ADTEAM were recently announced the first place winners of the 2017 National Student Advertising Competition held by the American Advertising Federation in New Orleans, Louisiana. This marks the best finish in JWU ADTEAM history, surpassing the team’s second place finish in the national round in 2015. JWU is also the first school in New England to win the competition.
JWU’s thirty-one-member team, made up of students in the university’s advertising and marketing communications, marketing, graphic design and media communication studies programs, placed first in the U.S. over seven other finalists. All teams gave presentations before a judging panel that included executives from Tai Pei, this year’s NSAC corporate client.

HUTCHINSON, Kansas — Cassidy G. Pelchat from Lisbon was admitted into the honors program at Hutchinson Community College in the spring of 2017.

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Two-hundred-ninety-nine Saint Anselm College students were accepted into national and international honor societies in the just-completed 2016-2017 academic year, conferring distinction for high scholarship and/or leadership achievement in broad or specialized fields of study.

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts — Elizabeth Moulton of Hiram was presented with the Robert Burke Athletic Director’s Award from American International College at the College’s Athletic Awards ceremony this spring.
The Robert Burke Athletic Director’s Award recognizes community service and outstanding performance or competitive improvement over an athletic career.
Moulton was recognized for her drive, commitment, resilience and selfless spirit that have been invaluable to the women’s field hockey team and the AIC community.
In February of 2016, Moulton helped organize the AIC field hockey team’s volunteering experience at the Special Olympics Floor Hockey Tournament.
At the ceremony, Moulton was lauded for her ability to command respect and support her teammates as 2016 captain, working tirelessly to improve every year on the field.
