Preschool Story Time resumes

RUMFORD — Rumford Public Library will resume weekly Preschool Story Time at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, in the childrens room.

Area youngsters ages 2 to 5 are invited to attend for stories, songs, activities and a healthy snack. Kids will also make a take home craft that reflects that week’s theme.

This is an excellent opportunity for parents to have their children meet and interact with other preschoolers. Story times will not be held during school vacations or in the event of school cancellations.

Bereavement support group beginning

BETHEL — Journey Through Grief is a free, eight-week bereavement support group facilitated by Katie Sloma, LCSW.

The group sessions will be held at Bethel Family Health Center, 32 Railroad St., at a time to be determined.

Every person’s loss is unique. Through a support group, one can feel the support and understanding of others who have experienced loss. While there is no single solution to dealing with loss, members of a support group can offer a range of alternatives, as well as a break from the loneliness and the boredom that often come with grief.
