OXFORD — A LifeFlight helicopter was sent to Route 121 late Thursday after a car slammed into a utility pole, leaving two with serious injuries.
Early reports were that one victim had died following the 10:30 p.m. crash, although that could not be immediately confirmed.
Emergency crews from Oxford and Poland had to use extrication tools to get to the victims a short distance from Route 26.
Central Maine Power was called to shut electrical power to the area as emergency crews responded. By 11 p.m., police and fire crews were at the scene with a section of Route 121 closed to traffic.
