LIVERMORE FALLS — Erlon Bragdon Rose, 92, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, Aug. 19.

He was born November 20, 1924 in Livermore, the son of Harry Rose and Elsie (Richmond) Rose. Erlon was a 1943 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Gendreau as a radio operator during WWII. On November 8, 1946 in Livermore Falls, he married the love of his life, Janet Tardy.

Erlon worked for New England Telephone Company until his retirement. In his early years, Erlon earned his Eagle Scout Badge in Boys Scouts. He later was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers of America, past master of Oriental Star Lodge AF & AM of Livermore, past commander of the State VFW and past commander of Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay, and the George Bunton American Legion Post 10 in Livermore Falls. Erlon was also a member and deacon of The First Baptist Church of Livermore Falls. He enjoyed scrapbooking newspaper articles and collecting stamps. What brought Erlon the most joy was spending time with his family. He loved them so. His other love was spending every summer at their camp on Long Pond.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Janet Tardy Rose of Livermore Falls; two sons, Stacey Rose and his wife, Crystal, of Fayette; Randall Rose of Jay; his daughter, Jill Christian and her husband, Scott, of Alaska; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Hatfield and her husband, Steven, of Phillips; also 8 grandchildren, Jeremy, Erica, Brittany, Alex, Devin, Cameron, Ty, and Jayme, and 4 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Abby, Ella and Abel.

He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Jeffrey Rose, three brothers, George, Raymond and Meltire Bragdon; stepbrother, Richard Howard; and sister, Florence Rose.
