AUBURN — Elizabeth “Betty” Dumoulin, 83, formerly of Knox Street in Rumford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Clover Manor in Auburn with loving family at her side.
She was born in Rumford on Jan. 28, 1934, a daughter of Joseph E. and Lucy (Arsenault) Perry.
Betty was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1952.
She married the love of her life, Fernand “Fern” Dumoulin, on Aug. 7, 1954. Together, they celebrated 63 years of marriage and raised four children.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed knitting, crafts, cribbage and bowling; most of all she loved visiting with her children and grandchildren.
The grandchildren affectionately refer to her as “Grammy Candy.”
Betty was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior in Rumford.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Fernand “Fern” Dumoulin of Lewiston; children, Barbara J. Eiselstein of Reynoldsburg, OH, Peter J. Dumoulin and wife, Debbie, of Biddeford, Sara McGlauflin and husband, Warren, of Poland, and Paul A. Dumoulin and wife, Melissa, of Manchester; a sister, Emmy Lou Scharath and husband, Erich, of Plymouth, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas and wife, Sarah, Emily and husband, Zac, John, Brian, Katherine, Hunter, Annie, Maggie, Joey and Nathan; and three great-grandchildren, Prescott, Charles and Leo.
She was predeceased by her parents; a son-in-law Stephen Eiselstein; a sister, Irma Sirois; and three brothers, Paul, James and Raymond Perry.
