OTISFIELD — Administrative Assistant Anne Pastore said at Wednesday evening’s selectmen meeting that rebuilding the town’s website should be done within three months.
Pastore said Virtual Town Hall, a Massachusetts company that builds a lot of websites for Maine communities, showed her several examples of websites from other Maine towns.
“We agreed that the town of Durham is the model that we would like to use,” she said. “It’s very easy reading and is extremely user-friendly.”
She said the website model has a “find it fast” button that makes it easier for people to find information.
The proposed model is also phone-friendly, Pastore added, meaning people can access everything that is offered on the website on their phone.
“Right now, on our current website, you only get half of the information when you visit the website on your phone,” Pastore said. “This new website model will stack the information so that nothing is missing.”
Selectman Rick Micklon asked Pastore when the new website would go live.
She said she is taking pictures to send to Virtual Town Hall for the background for the website.
“Once he gets the photos from me, he said there’s a three-month timeline,” Pastore said, adding that there would be no interruption of the town’s website when it switches over to the new model.
