LEWISTON — Maine Event Comedy presents back-to-back nights of comedy Thursday, Aug. 17 at Bear Bones Beer and Friday, Aug. 18 at Baxter Brewing. Mark Turcotte will host both shows.
Massachusetts comedian Brian Plumb will perform at Bear Bones at 7 p.m. The show will also feature Mike Gray, Randy Williams, Danny Bullis and Mike Hallinan.
Plumb’s confrontational style has made him a favorite throughout New England and beyond. He performed at the Dallas Comedy Festival and was a semi-finalist at the Last Comix Standing contest at Foxwoods Casino. He’s played the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, and NYC’s Greenwich Village Comedy Club.
On Friday, the hilarious Johnny Ater will be at Baxter Brewing at 7 p.m. The show will also feature Ian Clark, Mike Levinsky, Ian Stuart and Scott McLaughlin.
Whether he’s taking light-hearted swipes at himself and his fellow Mainers, or contorting his face into hilarious characters, Ater has left audiences laughing throughout New England and beyond since 2003. He’s performed at the Punchline in San Francisco and headlined the Maine Comedy Festival. Ater has also appeared on “The Nite Show with Danny Cashman” and recently provided voice-over for an Agren Appliance television campaign.
