KINGFIELD —A book-signing for “Enduring Heights,” a fine-art photography book by John and Cynthia Orcutt, featuring images of the natural environment of Maine’s high peaks, including the areas surrounding Sugarloaf, Bigelow, Crocker, Saddleback and Mt. Abrams, will be held Friday, Aug. 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Schoolhouse Gallery, 226 Main St.

The book features maps, essays and 90 color plates, a forward byy Sen. Angus King and an essay by Wolf Tone, a former director of Trust for Public Land in Maine.
 
King will be in town on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at a community picnic on the front lawn of the Schoolhouse Gallery. The event is free, and the public is welcome to bring a picnic or purchase food from Rolling Fatties food truck on site. and there is food for purchase at Rolling Fatties food truck.
