PARIS — Bail was set at $25,000 cash, or $1,000 with participation in a bed-to-bed inpatient treatment program, for a Paris man arrested Friday on a charge of trafficking in heroin and tampering with evidence.

According to the Oxford County Jail, Norman Hightower, 35, remained in jail Tuesday afternoon after his initial appearance at 11th District Court on Monday.
Other conditions of bail include no use or possession of illegal drugs and being subject to random search and testing for drugs.
According to a news release from the Maine State Police, Hightower was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and tampering with evidence after officers with the Oxford Police Department and Maine State Police found him in the Oxford Casino on Route 26, took him into custody in the parking lot and found 9 grams of heroin on him.
The news release also said Samuel George, 37, of Paris was stopped earlier Friday for speeding on Route 26 and admitted to state police Trooper Jason Wing that he was planning to buy 10 grams of heroin from Hightower in the casino parking lot. George was arrested on a charge of violating probation.
George remained in jail Tuesday afternoon on a probation hold.
