FARMINGTON – Louise A. Chabot, 77, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 27, 1940, in Jay, the daughter of Henry “Tim” Filteau and Vivian (Roy) Filteau. Louise was a 1958 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On Oct. 18, 1958, she married her husband, Louis Chabot, at St. Rose of Lima Church. They were married 58 years.
Louise worked at Bass Shoe in the accounting department, then went to International Paper Company, where she worked as an accounting manager and a mill controller until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, served as a Eucharistic minister, lector, choir member, and was a 50-year member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Louise was a very active member of the community. She was chairwoman and founder of the Good Neighbor Fuel Fund through the Tri-Town Ministerial Association, and served as a Livermore Falls selectwoman and chairwoman for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Chabot of Livermore Falls; her son, Steven Chabot and wife, Tara, of Livermore Falls; daughters, Karen Williamson and her husband, Andrew, of Portland, and Laurie Johnston and her husband, James “Bob,” of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Robert Filteau.
