AUBURN — Lloyd Kimball, 83, of Poland died Friday, Aug. 11, at the Hospice House.
He was born in Casco on Nov. 29, 1933, the son of Benjamin C. and Bertha Eldridge Kimball. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He married Velma Martin on May 20, 1961. They lived in Meriden, Conn., before returning to Maine about 20 years ago. He had been employed as a dock worker with the Teamsters Union for many years, as well as truck driving.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed being outdoors. He loved anything with a motor and was a stock car racer with the nickname “lead foot Lloyd.”
He is survived by a son, Ricardo Kimball and his wife, Jessica, of Guilford, Conn.; a daughter, Susan Scott and her husband, George, of Brownington, Vt.; four grandchildren, Heather Dieda and her husband, Junior, and Eric Scott and his wife, Trueley, all of Brownington, Vt., Stephanie Elder and her husband, Adrian, of Bridgeport, Conn., and Tiffaney Russell and her husband, William, of Clinton, Conn.; a brother, Leonard Knight and his wife, Isabelle, of Bridgton; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Velma on Oct. 19, 2012; brothers, Lewis Kimball and Kenneth Kimball; and a nephew, Joe Knight.
