I am in full agreement with Angela Berry (letter, July 19) and Kaelyne Thompson (letter, July 20) about people’s need and right to proper health care.
Franklin D. Roosevelt created Social Security and Lyndon B. Johnson created Medicare. They were ideal presidents who cared for people. Now, we need a good president to create universal health care for all Americans.
It is simple — a healthy population would be good for the economy and for people’s happiness as Americans.
Just like with Social Security and Medicare, payments would be set aside from people’s paychecks in order to cover medical expenses as needed. It makes perfect sense to me. Other countries do it, why can’t the U.S.?
I feel that voters need to elect representatives who believe in working together for the common good instead of competing with each other.
