SABATTUS — Selectmen this week set the tax rate and it’s going down $1.
The average house in town will save $107 this year, according to Town Manager Tony Ward.
“Which in today’s environment is substantial,” he added.
Tax bills with the new mil rate, $17.75, have already been sent out, with the first half due Sept. 5.
Ward said the savings comes in part from RSU 4 receiving an additional $488,000 from the state and the district choosing to pass it along to the towns to cut costs.
