MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the Anglican Church of the Transfiguration, 64 Elm St.
Society members are combing through the archives to categorize and properly store them. Anyone interested in learning more about the society is welcome to attend the meeting.
The society extends an invitation to anyone who wants to join in preserving the documents and artifacts of the community as well suggesting ideas of further community involvement.
The society and members of the Anglican Church are preparing for an ice cream social, with a barbershop quartet providing entertainment, Thursday, Aug. 17. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.
The society would like to acquire the video recording talents of someone in the area. No historical background is necessary, just some video technical expertise. Contact Eriks Petersons at 207-345-3134, e-mail nepesons@myfairpoint.net or stop in at the meeting.
The society and the church will sponsor an organ recital Sunday, Sept. 10.
