AUBURN — Ruth Frechette, 84, of Buckfield, passed away peacefully and comfortably at Clover Manor in Auburn on Wednesday, July 12.

Ruth was born in Buckfield on Sept. 30, 1932, to Guy and Velma Ellingwood. She married Oliver Jr. on Dec. 23, 1950. They had one son, Roland.

Ruth retired from Miller Shoe in Norway, working piece work. The harder she worked, the more money she would make. She made many lifelong friends while working there. After her retirement from Miller Shoe, Ruth worked at C.F. Wells in Buckfield until the age of 74.

Ruth’s greatest joy was her family. She loved being with them at family gatherings or simple visits. She was a great cook and spent most of her free time in the kitchen baking yeast rolls and desserts. She loved to serve coffee and baked goods to her frequent visitors. She had a large circle of friends who she would talk on the phone with daily.

Ruth is survived by her son, Roland and wife, Leah, of Buckfield; grandsons Shawn Frechette of Buckfield and Scott Frechette and wife, Devon, of Jay; and great-granddaughters, Baylee, Rilye and Paisley Frechette.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, parents and sister, Elizabeth Payne.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clover Manor and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care she received during her short stay.

Online condolences may be shared with Ruth’s family at www.chandlerfunerals.com.
