RUMFORD — The June 30 Kaleidoscope will add the acoustic and vocal talents of Paige and Lindsey Nowlin of Dirigo High School along with Adelaide Fuller, wedding violinist and singer.

Visual artists featured will be Liz Murphy, and Kaylee Martin of The Gypsy Canvas, along with other creative talents including Kris Howes and crew from Gaskyl Productions. Performers scheduled are Kitty and JT with pop and contemporary favorites, along with Jesse Heath singing and playing Country hits. Also featured will be Chris Baptiste and Andrew Phelps in Among Shadows, and Zac Calden doing his new stand-up comedy material.

It’s bright, colorful, interesting, it’s never exactly the same, it’s Kaleidoscope celebrating local art and artists. Local performer Scot Grassette of 49 Franklin hosts the event that brings visual and performance artists together to mix, mingle, collaborate, network and build friendships in the art community. Grassette says, “This area is ingrained with artists of all types, and Kaleidoscope is the Murphy’s Oil Soap that brings out the beauty that has been there all along.”

The Teaberry Arts Council was partially born from Kaleidoscope, and they will be present with their Apple Crate fundraiser available for viewing and bidding for the first time. Artists have volunteered to paint Apple Crates that go up for bid to raise money to improve arts in the area.

There is no cover for Kaleidoscope, which takes place Thursday, June 30, at 7 p.m. in 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater. Artists who would like to participate should contact grassette@gwi.net or 207-369-0129. A cash bar will be available.
