AUBURN — Constance D. (Hunter) Ayotte, 69, of New Auburn died at Central Maine Medical Center on Saturday, June 24, after a brief illness.
She was born in Augusta on July 1, 1947, the eldest child of Thomas Sr. and Dorothy (Hoffmann) Hunter. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1965 and attended Gorham State College (USM), graduating with a B.S. in Education in 1969. She taught for over 40 years at schools in Lewiston, Auburn and Lisbon, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed reading, playing games and traveling with her husband of 48 years, Francis (Frank) Ayotte. She was also corresponding secretary for the New Auburn Seniors.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Ayotte of New Auburn; her son, Christopher Ayotte; grandson, Peter Ayotte, stepgranddaughter, Anna Hagan, and great-stepgranddaughter, Jade Gohde, all of of New Castle, Del.; her mother, Dorothy Hunter of Auburn; her brothers, Thomas Hunter Jr. of Vassalboro, and William Hunter of Turner; and two special friends, Dianne Roy of Auburn, and Diane Nadeau of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her father, Thomas Hunter Sr. of Auburn; and her daughter-in-law, Michele Levan Ayotte of New Castle, Del.
