LEWISTON — Donald M. Oliver Jr., 68, of Greene passed away on Wednesday, June 21, at CMMC in Lewiston.
He was born in Oshkosh, Wis., on January 14, 1949, a son of the late Donald Oliver Sr. and Elizabeth Oliver. At a young age, he and his family moved to Scarborough, where they would reside for many years. Growing up, Don attended local schools and was a graduate of Scarborough High School.
After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, Don helped raise his family and worked for many years as a warehouse supervisor at Schlotterbeck and Foss until his retirement.
Don will always be remembered for his passion of the outdoors with fishing and boating as well as his love for playing cribbage and the spoons. He loved everything about the state of Maine and was honored to be a “Maineiac.” From the mountains to the coast, he enjoyed every bit of this wonderful state. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan Oliver of Illinois; his brother, Bob Oliver and his wife, Sandra, of Lewiston; his sister, Carol Martin of Oxford; and his sister-in-law, Paulette Oliver of Saco. He also leaves behind his four granddaughters, his great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
