FARMINGTON — Registration has begun for the Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better Summer,” at the Farmington Public Library, 117 Academy St.
The program, open to children of all ages, readers and listeners, will include reading, games, and prizes.
Children will keep a record of their reading and earn prizes.The program is free, open to any child, and no library card is required to participate. Books read do not have to be library books. Children may register anytime between June 16 and Aug. 10, when the program concludes, to participate but prizes are limited, so registering early is recommended.
Borrowing privileges are free to Farmington residents, students in SAD 9, and Industry and Starks residents (through reimbursement from the town office). Nonresidents may join the library for $25 a year per household.
Each week will feature building and art construction projects in addition to regular story programs.
Baby Rhymes is held Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Babies and toddlers up to age 3 and their caregivers gather for rhymes, songs, movement, play, and stories.
Owl Club meets Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. School-age children gather for a story and related art, games, or science activities.
Preschool Story Hour is Fridays at 10 a.m. Children age 3 to 5, along with their siblings and caregivers, gather for stories and related activities addressing all areas of their development.
Art Together takes place Fridays at 3:30 p.m. All ages gather to create art.
Saturday Stories is held Saturdays at 11 a.m. Preschool and school-aged children listen to a variety of stories followed by a related art activity.
