ERIE, Pa. — Rafael Devers homered and tripled, driving in two runs as the Portland Sea Dogs topped the Erie SeaWolves 12-6 on Monday.
Nick Longhi homered and doubled with two runs for Portland.
Erie cut the deficit to 6-5 in the third after Grayson Greiner hit a two-run home run.
Following the big inning, the Sea Dogs extended their lead in the fifth inning when Josh Tobias hit a two-run double and then scored on a forceout.
The Sea Dogs later added a run in the sixth and two in the eighth. In the sixth, Longhi hit a solo home run, while Devers hit a solo home run in the eighth.
Jake Drehoff (1-0) got the win in relief while Erie starter Artie Lewicki (4-3) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
Christin Stewart doubled twice and singled, scoring two runs for the SeaWolves.
With the win, Portland remains undefeated (4-0) against Erie this season.
