OXFORD — The results of a recount Wednesday morning for a tight race on the Board of Selectmen left political newcomer “Ed” Knightly still on top as winner in the three-man race for one seat.

Town Clerk Beth Olsen announced the results of the recount, that was requested by candidate Dana Dillingham,  Wednesday.

Knightly squeaked out an election victory over Dillingham and Mark Blaquiere for a seat on the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday with 193 votes to Dillingham’s 189 votes. Blaquiere got 86 votes.

Following the recount, Olsen said  Knightly and Blaquiere each received an additional vote while Dillingham’s tally remained the same.

According to the recount results, Knightly received 194 votes, Dillingham, 189 and Blaquiere, 87.

There were three blank ballots and one void ballot, Olsen said.
