RICHMOND — A lobster bake and ferry tour will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, on Swan Island, hosted by island staff.

Guests will ride on the ferry around Little Swan Island, where eagles and large sturgeon are often viewed. After the tour, the ferry will stop at Swan Island campground for a lobster bake.

Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather, as it often gets cool and breezy on the water. There is seating for 34 people and standing room for 16.

The event is $40 a person and reservations are required. There is a minimum of 35 reservations required to run the event and maximum of 50.

The Steven E. Powell Wildlife Management Area-Swan Island is owned and maintained by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Its operation and maintenance are supported by fees as well as revenue from the sale of hunting and fishing licenses, and federal monies under the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Program.

The wildlife management area, about 1,755 acres in size, is located in the Kennebec River between Richmond and Dresden.
