AUBURN — Annual pinning ceremonies were held recently for graduates of the nursing and medical assisting programs at Central Maine Community College. Family members, friends, and faculty gathered at the events held in Kirk Hall.
Twenty-two students have completed the associate degree in nursing and 12 have completed the associate degree in medical assisting.
The nursing program at CMCC, offered since 1968, prepares students for careers in medical/surgical, obstetrical, pediatric, geriatric, or psychiatric nursing.
The medical assisting program prepares graduates for entry-level employment in settings in which medical secretarial and/or basic clinical and laboratory training are required.
The nursing graduates are Chris Allen, Allegra Boyd, Andrea Branson, Samantha Caliri, Brooke Campbell, Amy Demers, Michelle DeRoche-Johnson, Heather Dostie, Kristen Duarte, Jennifer Harmon, Courtney Heintz, Sallie McCourt, Lorri Morin, Christine Nathan, Priscilla Pierre, Michael Rioux, Trisha Robbins, Evelyn Sebastian, Corum Silvermane, Amanda Stewart, Kaitlyn Washburn, and Ashley Winter.
The graduates of the medical assisting program are Denise Castonguay, Erin Conway, Julie Davis, Baylee Hatstat, Taylor Hinson, Brittany Lapointe, Katie Levasseur, Carissa Remillard, Stephanie Ridlon, Kimberly Sweatt, Amy Therrien, and Lisa Young.
