AUBURN — Rita M. Blouin, 89, of Webber Ave. Lewiston, died Thursday, June 1, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, with her loving family at her side. She was born in St. Vienne, PQ Canada on February 12, 1928 a daughter of the late Albert and Clarina (Tessier) Perreault.
Rita married Roland Blouin on November 30, 1946, and together they settled in Lewiston to raise their six children. They spent 25 wonderful years together until he passed on June 23, 1974. She worked for several years as a stitcher at Billen shoe. She has been a longtime member of Holy Cross Church.
Rita enjoyed taking family trips to Old Orchard, playing beano, going to the casino, strawberry picking and taking day trips with her daughter, Pauline, and she loved visits from all her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her four children, Leo Blouin and his wife, Terry, of Sabattus, Roger Blouin and his wife, Lorraine, Louise Blouin and her companion, Fernando Mendoza, of Lewiston, and Pauline Blouin of Lewiston; her two sisters, Rose Perreault and Rolande Perreault of Canada; a brother, Andre Perreault of Canada; 10 grandchildren: Lisa, Linda, Rachel, Michelle, Robin, Jacinta, Kasey, Hope, Eric and Taylor; several stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by two sons, Eugene and Ray Blouin; two sisters, Yvonette and Claire; and four brothers, Paul, Laurent, Benoit and Jean.
Her warm heart and infectious smile will be missed by all who knew her. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and memere and she will never be forgotten.
