WEST PARIS — The schedule of Sunday services at the West Paris Universalist Church at 9 a.m. for June is:
* June 4 — “Unearthing New England’s Unknown Genius: Mary Moody Emerson,” led by the Rev. Nancy Haverington, who is writing a screenplay about Mary Moody Emerson, the genius behind her nephew, Ralph Waldo Emerson. Mary’s beloved farm was in Waterford. Haverington is a UCC minister, Emerson scholar and playwright.
* June 11 — “Waitressing in Sacred Kitchens,” led by the Rev. Fayre Stephenson. This will be an exploration of everyone’s need to define their roles.
* June 18 — “Flower Communion,” led by Stephenson, telling the origins of the Flower Communion and celebrating Flower Communion. People are invited to bring flowers from their garden.
* June 25 — 9 a.m. service at Mission Congregational Church.
The schedule of services for the First Universalist Society of West Summer at 11 a.m. is:
* July 9, Marilyn Hammond; July 16, the Rev. Fayre Stephenson; July 23, the Rev. Fred Jordan; July 30, Cindy Reedy; Aug. 6, Silver Moore Leaman; Aug. 13, Scott Jones; Aug. 20, the Rev. Bernice Martin; Aug. 27, Rodney Abbott.
During the summer, the West Paris Town Office and the West Paris Baptist Church accept nonperishable food items. The church is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays and for food distribution from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays.
