Game Wardens head out on Panther Pond to search for a paddler they believe is missing Friday morning.

RAYMOND — Maine Game Wardens are searching Friday morning for a missing person in Panther Pond.

Game Wardens say they responded to a call for a possible drowning around 10 p.m. Thursday.

They say a 52-year-old man from Connecticut was paddling a canoe along the eastern shore of the pond.

Friends told searchers they heard him calling for help.

Rescue crews searched the area late Thursday night and into the morning, when they found the man’s overturned kayak.

A dive team went into the water around 6 a.m.

Maine Game Wardens are expected to hold a press conference around 9 a.m. Friday.
