In June, the Rumford voters will choose two members for a new selectboard from a list of four qualified candidates. Rumford voters will choose their individual favorite candidates based on their belief that the new selectboard will provide a leadership team of five members to bring Rumford to an improved state of being.
During 2016 and 2017, Mark Belanger and Steve Dyment have demonstrated strong support for our local battle with the Rumford Water District and Nestle.
I believe economic development is a key responsibility for the selectboard and the new town manager. Lower taxes and lower energy costs are essential to achieve economic development. Belanger has been consistent in his understanding of the need for spending cuts for reasonable tax reductions for Rumford residents.
I encourage other Rumford voters to join me to vote in June for Mark Belanger and Steve Dyment to build a selectboard team.
Len Greaney, Rumford
